"My guru Ms. Nibedita has been one of the most determined and inspiring gurus. I have been learning kathak from her from  past 5 years now.  I as a student feel so comfortable around her . In my early stages of learning i faced immense difficulty in dance but with her help and guidance, dance has now turned into a great passion for me and i am now able to perform kathak.  She has always been supportive  and has always treated us as her own kids. Coming to kathak, learning from her is almost learning from the god of kathak dance - Pandit Birju Maharaj.Having said that shes herself an amazing dancer and puts in a commendable effort into shaping us as good dancers. Shrimati Nibedita chattopadhyay is not only my Mother but also my kathak guru . From a tender age , I was enthralled by her dance. Seeing her dance , I adopted a craving to learn the magical dance form . She portrays grace, elegance, boldness and fierceness through her dance . Her expressions never fail to captivate the audience and take them on a musical journey. Even during class, she enthusiastically narrates mythological stories for better understanding of the dance form. She creates an unbreakable bond with her students. She prioritises each student equally . During class I am her student first , Daughter second. She portrays her care for me through tough love. She also helps us hone skills that are needed to become a good human being in life. She passes down her knowledge of this divine dance form to us and helps every student cope with their difficulties. The kathak dance form and my guru have played an eminent role in moulding my now confident personality. The encouragement I receive from her persuades me to strive to be the best. I am eternally grateful to her. She is my guiding light,My guru.
